What constitutes an exemption?

You can get an NHS exemption if you meet any of the following criteria:

  • 16, 17 or 18 AND are in full-time education

  • You are pregnant

  • You have a medical exemption certificate

  • You are 60 years of age OR under 16 years of age

  • You have a medical exemption

  • You receive Universal credit AND meet the exemption criteria
